Insignia Prime Steak and Sushi is the third of the Anthony Scotto trilogy of fine dining steakhouses on Long Island, As someone that has dined at both Rare 650 and Blackstones many times, Insignia, effortlessly lives up to the standards established by one of the most successful resturant groups on Long Island. Insignias’ ambience is both elegant and warm, boasting the presence of a grand mansion found on the gold coast of the northshore. The main dining room is welcoming, with several booths that can accommodate large parties. Yes, Insignia is charming, but what keeps its’ diners coming back is Insignias’ first class service and consistent preparation and presentation of their food. General Manager Emir Radoncic plays a major role in the success of Insignia. “It’s all about interacting with our staff and the motivation of our team. We create a caring and comfortable environment where individuals excel, so we can meet our goals and make Insignia a pleasurable dining experience”, says Mr. Radoncic. As someone that frequents restaurants, I’ve found that whenever management is out in front with its’ staff , there is a good chance that the experience is going to be good. This is exactly what Insignia delivers.
For cocktails, Insignia offers a spacious bar and lounge making it the perfect place to unwind and relax after a hectic day at the office. Stay for dinner and you will truly appreciate all that Insignia offers. Known for their steaks and sushi, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find a menu that offers a wide selection of seafood. Try the Pan Roasted Atlantic Salmon presented with fire roasted corn, zucchini and lump crab meat and white balsamic honey butter. Sweet and buttery, it’s absolutely delicious.
Begin your experience with one of their signature rolls. I recommend the “Tornado” which is made with Spicy lobster, Alaskan king crab, avocado, deep fried crunchy potato, then drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo. The combined delicacy of the lobster and crab with the crunch from the potato makes this roll a popular favorite.
I’m a traditionalist and can’t seem to break from what works for me every single time I dine at Insignia. The 22 oz. bone-in rib eye, medium rare is…..well, superb is the only word I can come up with. Slightly charred on the outside, with a tender and juicy interior, perfectly cooked every single time. Accompany your steak with a side of mash with sautéed mushrooms and onions and your golden!
Complete the perfect meal with one of their, “can’t make up my mind, I want one of each desserts.” It just keeps getting better with these guys! Here are two, to die for desserts to consider. Tahitian Vanilla Cream Cheesecake prepared with a maple walnut sauce and cinnamon anglaise. For the chocoholic, do the Chocolate S’mores Layer Torte – Traditionally an old time favorite with the kids has now been brought up to adult standards by finishing it off with a chocolate sauce and chocolate ice cream. Sinfully delicious.
With celebration season in full swing, now is a good time to consider booking a Fathers’ Day, Graduation or any special occasion party. Insignias’ professional catering staff would be delighted to assist you in preplanning your event to make it one to remember. Insignia’s beautiful architectural design, first class service, coupled with their ability to deliver perfectly prepared and presented food leaves Insignias’ competition in the rear view mirror.
