When temperatures rise, fashion naturally takes on an easy, breezy quality to help us stay comfortable while still looking our best. This season, that comfort is delivered through breathable fabrics, cooling colors, and styles that match the lighter, brighter days of summer.
For Summer 2025, fashion and accessory trends offer everything we’d expect–with a few surprises to keep us on our toes.
Lace and layers of tulle are everywhere this season, from dresses and blouses to accessories, creating a look that’s soft, airy, and effortlessly feminine. Silks are also making a strong showing, bringing movement and elegance to blouses, dresses, scarves, and belts. Linen, a perennial summer favorite, is front and center in mix-and-match suit separates. I added a pair of wide-leg linen trousers and a coordinating vest to my own wardrobe–perfect for day or evening wear. Blazers this season tend to be oversized, adding another chic layering option.
Color-wise, creams and beiges dominate alongside soft grays and powder pinks. Greens are the standout hue for Summer ‘25, especially khaki and sage. Metallic accessories remain popular, with silver in the mix but gold continuing to reign supreme on runways and in street style.
Florals are flourishing, from monochrome cutouts on handbags to full-color prints on skirts, sandals, and long summer dresses. Nautical and coastal themes are also trending, with blue-and-white stripes, gold buttons, and accessories that mirror the same metallic tones.
This season embraces contrasts. Minimalist, monochromatic looks sit side by side with unexpected summer plaids. Bubble skirts and dresses are in vogue at some design houses, while others are leaning into longer-length Bermuda shorts–some tailored, others with a wide-leg cut. Pair them with a belt or sash to highlight the waistline.
As for bags, anything goes. Oversized totes, hobo bags, structured shapes, and soft silhouettes are all in style. From prints to solids, metallics to pastels, the key is to find the one that speaks to you.
Footwear is having a peep-toe moment. Whether you prefer heels, sandals, mules, platforms, or wedges–in solids, prints, or a mix–you’ll find plenty of options featuring a peek for your toes. It’s a good summer to keep up with those pedicures!
This season, embrace styles that keep you cool and confident. Step outside your comfort zone and try a piece or two that adds something fresh to your wardrobe. Whatever you choose, make sure it makes you feel fabulous–because that’s what fashion is truly for.
