As fall approaches, pumpkin everything bombards your coffee, home, beer and all pieces of life until the holidays, why not give some fall inspired skincare products a try.
Pumpkin is not only a fruit that causes pandemonium in the fall, but it contains incredibly beneficial vitamins that are great for skin. Pumpkin is rich in vitamins A and C which aids in soothing and nourishing damaged skin. It also contains enzymes that will improve dull, dry skin and fight acne.
A few pumpkin skincare items to add to your makeup bag include The Body Deli’s Vitamin C Repairing Serum ($59). It boosts lightening hyper-pigmentation and increasing elasticity. When looking for a pumpkin peel, Kate Ryan Pumpkin Enzyme Peel ($25) is a great choice. The pumpkin provides a gentle peel that leaves the skin exfoliated, brighter and hydrated. Rocky Top Soap Shop carries a Totally Pumpkin Soap Bar ($7) made of organic pumpkin puree, pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin butter.
If you’re a “Do-it yourself” kind of lady there are many pumpkin body products that are easily made at home. An easy and effective Pumpkin body scrub is simply made with ¼ cup cooked pureed pumpkin and ¼ cup brown sugar. The brown sugar granules will help to exfoliate any dry skin while the puree moisturizes.
While mixing up your pumpkin scrub save some and treat yourself to a handmade pumpkin hair mask. Combining pureed pumpkin, natural plain yogurt and honey will leave your hair silky and smooth in about 40 minutes and you’ll smell delicious!
If you find yourself on pumpkin overload try apple as an alternative. Apples contain salicylic acid which fights redness and helps treat acne. Apples are also high in Vitamin A, C and Zinc which create a glow to the skin.
Green Apple offered by Juice Beauty carries a full line of apple skincare. A great start is the Beautiful Body Gift Set ($39). The set includes a green apple cleansing bar, mousse hand and body cleanser, firming body moisturizer and age defying hand cream. The products are designed for all skin types and boasts benefits like visibly brighter skin, firmed appearance and a soothing element due to the organic aloe. The products are not tested on animals and contains organic ingredients such as virgin olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, white grape juice, grape seed extract and even bergamot.
Whether you choose apple or pumpkin remember to pick up a luxurious skincare item to add to your regime this season.
