Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for florists. There is no better place to see an almost endless array of beautiful flowers than the New York Botanical Garden. Located at 2900 Southern Parkway in the Bronx, the New York Botanical Garden was founded in 1891 and is truly an iconic living museum. The 250-acre site, containing over one million living plants, is a National Historic Landmark.
On Sunday February 14th the Botanical Garden is open from 10am – 5pm, giving you plenty of time to celebrate the holiday there with your loved one.  Stroll through the expansive Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, talk to guides on hand about the many aphrodisiac plants that can be found at the Garden, and enjoy expert-led chocolate discussions and tastings—all included with an All-Garden Pass. A pop-up bar in the warmth of the Conservatory will be available with champagne, beer, and wine—all available for purchase.  The cost of the All-Garden Pass is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and students with ID and $10 for children under 12. Immerse yourself in lush tropical rain forests and cactus-filled deserts. Music will fill the air in the tropical galleries and Palm Dome. Even have your very own love poem written by a professional poet to remember this very special day.
Interested in tying the knot over Valentine’s Day in the wedding capital of the world?  About 4 percent of all U.S. weddings taking place in Las Vegas each year. In 2014, 80,738 couples tied the knot in Clark County, more than any other county in the United States.  In order to apply for a marriage license you must appear in person before a clerk at a Marriage License Bureau location, either downtown or at one of the outlying offices. Your proposed union must include two people who are unrelated and both at least 18 years old. Proof of name and age will be required, so don't forget to bring your valid driver's license, or passport. Blood tests are not required and there is no waiting period. The Clark County marriage bureau is open 8 a.m. to midnight 365 days a year, including holidays. For more information call them at (702) 671-0600.
The license will only cost you $60. Getting an “Elvis” to officiate.. well that’s another story.
So whether it’s enjoying lush tropical flowers at the New York Botanical Garden, getting married in Las Vegas, or just a local dinner and movie… enjoy this very special holiday and toast to loving LOVE.
