The Witches Brew
311 Hempstead Turnpike, West Hempstead

Recap: This is truly the most appropriate place I can think of to spend Halloween. Spooky, eccentric, borderline-eerie (in the best way) – The Witches Brew is a fall must. Plus, they have some great desserts. Oh, and a killer tea list.
Personal In-house Favorites: Coffee Float, “The Autumn”, Crème Brûlée

Southdown Coffee
210B Wall Street, Huntington

Recap: Southdown grants their customers the hometown feel – quaint, warm, simple and to the point. Quality coffee, delicious bites, and quite possibly the best egg sandwich in Huntington.
Personal In-house Favorites: Maple Latte, Flat White, Cortado

Cyrus: Chai & Coffee Company
1 Railroad Plaza, Bay Shore

Recap: My friend Katie introduced my brother and I to this treasure. Cyrus is simple and to the point, and may have some of the best coffee on Long Island in my opinion. You can smell the different blends before choosing the one you want to purchase. They also have delicious in-house bites.
Personal In-house Favorites: Indonesia, Hawaii, Brazil

Sweetie Pies on Main
181 Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor

Recap: My friend Claire found this gem. Their outdoor seating area is worth visiting – supremely tranquil, with floral aromas, and readily available seating. I also genuinely appreciate the fact that they use cold brew to make their ice cubes.
Personal In-house Favorites: Iced Coffee, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Gluten-Free Pound Cake (Claire’s Pick), Egg and Bagel Bombs

Crazy Beans
465 Rt 25A, Miller Place

Recap: One of my brother’s all-time favorites, this quirky coffee shop has an eccentric menu in an accessible location. This place is for the adventurer, but has something for everyone. [Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten-Free Friendly]
Personal In-house Favorites: Rainbow Cookie Latte, Toasted Marshmallow Latte, Iced Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Latte

Babylon Bean
17 Fire Island Ave, Babylon

Recap: Whether you prefer your coffee simple or sweet, there’s something for you at Babylon Bean. The atmosphere is alternative, yet refreshing. Art covers the wall, available for purchase, and the clientele is friendly and talkative.
