Long Island is known for it’s wide array of sushi and hibachi establishments. Many of these restaurants offer a surplus of other country-specific dishes such as Pad Thai and Singapore Noodles.  It is a rarity to find quality sushi, hibachi and Thai within one establishment, however it is possible. ZaZa, nestled in a busy Commack shopping center, is providing high-quality, imaginative dishes for the community.  Serving up everything from sashimi to flavorful noodles, there is something for everyone. Perhaps the most appreciated aspect of ZaZa is the elegant, urban décor and impressive variety within their menu.
Whether you’re searching for a new happy hour spot or a family-friendly restaurant, ZaZa has something to offer for everyone. Their appetizer list is impressive, and includes signature dishes and some artistic, unexpected choices. Edamame, Spring Rolls, Gyoza and Tempura are to be expected.  Their Fried Calamari is made with a modern twist including a mango salsa and a sweet Thai chili sauce, while their Crispy Duck Roll is a genuinely savory combination of cucumber, scallion, duck and plum sauce. ZaZa also offers an array of sushi and sashimi appetizers, all are a striking combination of fresh fish, vegetables, fruit and sauces.
The sushi and sashimi selection is serious business.  Their menu is divided into: Sushi and Sashimi A La Carte, Sushi Roll or Hand Roll, Sushi Bar Entrees, Special Rolls, and Sashimi Rolls. I enjoyed a Tuna Scallion roll, Spicy Tuna roll and Sashimi appetizer. Quality fish, rice and notable presentation – I was impressed to say the least.
If you’re not a fan of fish, opt for one of their Kitchen Entrees, Bento Boxes, Noodle dishes or Hibachi. I would strongly recommend their Beef Pad Thai, Singapore Noodles, and Fried Rice. My guest encourages the Salmon Teriyaki, Spicy Sambal Tofu and Thai Red Curry. The entrees are flavorful, authentic and presented in a creative, noteworthy manner. I look forward to trying their Thai Basil Sauce and Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp on my next visit.
While enjoying an appetizer or entrée, peruse the cocktail list and enjoy the calming, modern décor. If you’re looking for a more entertaining experience, choose the hibachi experience – which includes an evening complete with laughs, sake and true artistry – thanks to the talented, comedic hibachi chefs.
ZaZa has a notable lunch menu, happy hour menu and children’s menu. If you want to get an idea of what ZaZa has to offer, visit their happy hour and enjoy a discounted beverage and plate. They offer an entire happy hour menu, in comparison to your typical cut-rate regular menu.
Next time you’re in the mood for an innovative, enthusing Asian meal, visit ZaZa for a truly charming, lush dining experience. Whether you go with family or friends, you’re in for a real culinary treat.
