Wardrobe Stylist, Author, Speaker, and CEO of At the Style Table, Yolanda Taylor
Sometimes the most powerful transformations begin the moment you finally see yourself differently.
When Yolanda Taylor joined me on the Secrets of Powerful Women podcast, I expected to talk about fashion. Instead, we talked about confidence, reinvention, self worth, and why the right outfit can change far more than what’s hanging in your closet.
Yolanda is a wardrobe stylist for midlife women, author, speaker, and CEO of At the Style Table. But what makes her truly remarkable isn’t her impeccable style. It’s her ability to help women rediscover themselves after years of putting everyone
else first.
Like many women, Yolanda spent decades building another career. She worked as a Delta flight attendant for 31 years, raising a family while caring for her father. When COVID changed everything, she made the courageous decision to leave the security of a career she’d known for decades and fully pursue the business she had quietly been building all along.
That leap wasn’t just about changing jobs. It was about embracing who she had become.
Yolanda sees clothing as an extension of confidence, not vanity. She believes self care includes looking in the mirror and saying,
“I look good,” without guilt or apology. When women feel confident in what they’re wearing, they stand taller, speak with more confidence, and often begin making better decisions in every area of their lives.
Her work goes far beyond organizing closets. As she sorts through clothing, she’s also helping women let go of outdated versions of themselves, old careers, old relationships, and old insecurities. The goal isn’t simply to create space in a closet. It’s to make room for the woman they’re becoming.
Yolanda understands this journey because she’s lived it herself. As a teenager, she struggled with self confidence and often felt invisible. Instead of allowing those feelings to define her, she became a student of fashion, teaching herself how clothing could help someone feel seen. What started as a personal transformation eventually became her life’s purpose.
She also reminds women that our bodies change, especially in midlife, and that’s not something to apologize for. Rather than waiting until you lose weight or fit into an old dress, she encourages women to embrace who they are today and dress for the life they’re living now.
Perhaps that’s what makes Yolanda Taylor such a powerful woman. She doesn’t just help women look beautiful. She helps them believe they already are. And sometimes, that’s the first step toward changing everything!
