Harleys American Grille

283 Main Street
Farmingdale, NY, 11735

Over the last decade, there has been a resurgence of community on Long Island. Towns like Bayshore and Patchogue have already made their come back. Now it appears that Farmingdale’s Main Street is becoming all the buzz.

Amidst this unpretentious neighborhood is a star-studded gem. A family business run by Benedetto LoManto, with wife Cynthia and son Michael, welcome you to Harleys American Grille, Long Island’s Newest Steakhouse.  A dark wooded interior, coffered ceilings with soft lighting all make for a sophisticated and intimate setting with booths that line the restaurant’s perimeter.

Harleys American Grille, Long Island’s Newest Steakhouse menu, having been so carefully thought out with endless apps, soups and salads, entrees, seafood and yes plenty of steak options, you just don’t know where to begin.

We started with a warm “Crispy Artichoke Salad”, prepared with herbs, baby kale, grana padano, lemon chips, with an aioli drizzle.  Unique and delicious. The Bone Marrow was ridiculous, and I mean that in Foodie terms. A bacon onion jam, gremolata, which is a chopped herb condiment accompanied by thinly sliced crostini. Layer the crisps with the marrow condiment......simply “Unctuous”, the best I ever had!

Other apps that come highly recommended - “Ribeye Rolls” stuffed with caramelized onions, cheese, jalapeño crema.  “Melt in your mouth, sensational! Also, their irresistible “Lobster Mac & Cheese” - three cheese blend, toasted bread crumbs. Creamy, savory and decadent are all that needs to be said.

For our mains, my wife had the “Tuna” - sushi grade, pistachio encrusted and sliced on a bed buckwheat noodles, vegetables, sesame seeds, in a ginger-soy sauce. The crunch from the pistachio, together with the Tuna and ginger-soy brings a new level of texture and flavor to this delicate fish. A generous portion fit for a Queen. I had the 14oz. Filet Mignon - I decided to jazz it up with one of their one of their many enhancements like their Danish Bleu Cheese Crust, adding a new dimension of flavor to this most tender cut of beef.

Ah yes, don’t forget about the sides. Order 2-3 to make your meal complete. One for you, one for her and one to share. Try the Lightly Battered “Onion Rings” accompanied by a harissa aioli. Bet you can’t eat just one! Though, not on the menu, I requested caramelized onions for my steak, which our server was more than happy to accommodate. Lastly, the charred broccoli.... well, simply put, addictive.

Just when you thought you’d have enough, the allure of dessert with a cappuccino was too hard to resist. For the Fall season a delightful slice of Pumpkin Cheese Cake was fitting. A delicate and creamy, pumpkin cheesecake center laid atop a graham cracker crust and then sprinkled with candied pumpkin seeds was amazing.

Cool ambience, an enthusiastic staff with a great menu, packed with an impressive lineup, makes Harleys American Grille, Long Island’s Newest Steakhouse a success story in the making.
