The Knox School invites the general public to attend its fall production of the award-winning comedy The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow, based on the novel by John Buchan and the film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Knox students Nicholas Lazo, Elizaveta Vostokova, Selena Zhao, and Chris Boivin employ all the tricks of the theatre to recreate the film on stage and do so with a buoyant playfulness that reminds us all of the inherent child-like joy of storytelling.   We hope you can join us for a madcap adventure that only the theatre can produce.
    “This play affords our students a unique opportunity,” says director Patrick Barry, chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department. “Not just the actors, who get to have great fun playing all these different characters with hats and wigs and whatnot, but the backstage crew, too. It’s really a team effort. The play moves so quickly, you really need your crew to be on task at all times. And it’s fun.”
